We ordered this gazebo because we wanted something to put over our hot tub for full privacy. Thus we needed both the mosquito netting and privacy shades. This was the only product on Amazon having both. It looked good, had nice neutral colors, so we ordered it. Took 2 construction-savvy men to set it up. It wasn’t something I could’ve done with my husband alone. It looks really nice and has all the features we wanted but the material that the frame is made out of is cheap. Considering it was about $350 we expected a more solid frame. We’ve had it set up for about a week and it rained a bit this past week. The rain creates water pockets on the top of the canopy and one led to one of the poles of the frames bending. We’ve contacted the seller to see about getting a replacemement frame. We’ll see how that goes. I do like the look and functionality of this but it’s not feasible to take the cover off every time it rains and if we continue to get these water pockets, my fear is that all the frames will eventually bend and then break. Today we put some small holes thru the canopy flap and used wire ties to more solidly attach the canopy flaps to the frame hoping this will allow the water to roll off and stop creating these water pockets. I hope it works because I really want the privacy when in my hot tub and this is the perfect size, height, coloring, and like i said, has both the mosquito netting and privacy shades. I’ll write more when I see what happens.

Very sturdy gazebo – By Peter

We bought this gazebo three years ago after reading positive reviews, are very happy with it.

Last year we had a wind shear that toppled mature trees just 50 yards from the gazebo. The gazebo was lifted off our deck and flipped into the yard where it landed upsidedown. Astonishingly, only one small strut was bent a little, and we could straighten it out, so (with three people) we lifted it back to the deck, no worse for the wear.

We do, however, agree with other that this is a HASSLE to put together and erect. It takes ladders, several people, and lots of patience with tools.

This is a nice sturdy gazebo, it comes with lot of parts but don’t let that scare you. It took me and my wife about an hour to assemble most of the gazebo and then we had to have two other people assist us to erect all four post and join them together. Once all the posts were upright things went smooth until we had to put the canopy on the frame.

This is not a great process here, you assemble the canopy frame and then put the canopy cover on the frame and then put the whole thing on the gazebo and bolt it down. There is no good way to do this as the gazebo height at the top center is like 10′. So we tried to put it on the frame while it was in place on the gazebo and we could not get it to work. We took the canopy frame off and then mounted the canopy cover and then four of us lifted it into position and bolted it down. This was not easy, but we got it done and it is great now that we can enjoy it.

All the parts were there and they included a few spare parts, all we needed was a few sockets, a drill for the sockets, a couple of ladders and the included wrench.

I have been trying to get an additional canopy top from the manufacturer (Sunjoy) and will have to see how that goes. The sun and wind here in Dallas means that a canopy cover only last about one season.

I was afraid to purchase this as it was priced well below other Madaga Gazebos. However, it came with ALL the necessary pieces and was SHIPPED TO ME FREE!!! It has only been up one day, but it seems very sturdy. The four poles are bigger than I thought!! I read so many positive reviews on this particular gazebo, so I purchased it based on that. It is not flimsy at all. We live in Florida, and we really needed some shade for our deck. We purchased a set of gazebo light strings on Amazon and they are up, too. Lovely!! I will probably get the Madaga shade or even a few shades because I can see how that will help with morning sun and wind/rain. I do see this as lasting for quite some time. Please don’t prove me wrong!!!

We like the look of the gazebo. However, corners started tearing last year a year after purchase. This year, 2 years, after purhase, completely tore all along one of the seams. No problems with the frame, it seems good and sturdy.

We bought this tent as an alternative to renting one for our wedding reception. Hands down it was the right thing to do. Our guests were amazed at the transformation of our backyard. Not the typical feel of the square ‘graduation tent’ and not as expensive as renting a fancier tent for one day. Arrived on time, easy to set up if you have a couple people to help. You can lay out the parts easily due to the labels, although the diagram on the instructions has very small print. You’ll need the extra people to hold things in the air as someone runs around and puts the legs in place to prevent any of the bars from bending. The way the ‘peaks’ are made is via a nice handle you can tighten by standing on the ground, which tightens the roof. The tighter the roof the better the water sheds (doesn’t form pools). A nice quality fabric, which kept our tables dry (it rained after our party, not a downpour, but wet enough). Not sure it would hold up in heavy winds. We had it up for at least a week of decent weather without any issue and it looked as nice as the day we put it up.

Great Tent for the Price, March 8, 2011 – By SAS

I purchased this tent for my husband’s 40th Birthday Party. We had room for about 50 people to sit down and eat in the tent. I am happy we had the tent because we couldn’t fit all 75 guests in our house and it rained that afternoon. The tent protected our guests from the rain. Thankfully it was a light rain since the tent isn’t water proof. It is only water resistant. The tent was missing some parts when we got it and I wouldn’t have noticed they were missing if we didn’t try and set it up a week before the event. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent the missing pieces immediately. You need to have at least eight adults to help you put up this tent. It isn’t easy. We left the tent up for two weeks and it stayed up beautifully. Definately worth purchasing considering it costs about $400 to rent the same one.
