This gazebo lasted about 3 years (always outdoors) before I had to purchase a new canopy replacement. Unfortunately, just a couple months after purchasing the new canopy, a storm blew through, and a good bit of the gazebo is now a mangled mess. The 4 posts holding it up are of great quality, but the upper beams have bent and rusted until they eventually just broke. So – including original price ($399), shipping ($100), and new canopy ($125) – the gazebo ended up costing about $200/yr. Was it worth it? Well, it was nice while it lasted….

Very sturdy gazebo, May 3, 2011 – By Peter

We bought this gazebo three years ago after reading positive reviews, are very happy with it.

Last year we had a wind shear that toppled mature trees just 50 yards from the gazebo. The gazebo was lifted off our deck and flipped into the yard where it landed upsidedown. Astonishingly, only one small strut was bent a little, and we could straighten it out, so (with three people) we lifted it back to the deck, no worse for the wear.

We do, however, agree with other that this is a HASSLE to put together and erect. It takes ladders, several people, and lots of patience with tools.

This is a nice sturdy gazebo, it comes with lot of parts but don’t let that scare you. It took me and my wife about an hour to assemble most of the gazebo and then we had to have two other people assist us to erect all four post and join them together. Once all the posts were upright things went smooth until we had to put the canopy on the frame.

This is not a great process here, you assemble the canopy frame and then put the canopy cover on the frame and then put the whole thing on the gazebo and bolt it down. There is no good way to do this as the gazebo height at the top center is like 10′. So we tried to put it on the frame while it was in place on the gazebo and we could not get it to work. We took the canopy frame off and then mounted the canopy cover and then four of us lifted it into position and bolted it down. This was not easy, but we got it done and it is great now that we can enjoy it.

All the parts were there and they included a few spare parts, all we needed was a few sockets, a drill for the sockets, a couple of ladders and the included wrench.

I have been trying to get an additional canopy top from the manufacturer (Sunjoy) and will have to see how that goes. The sun and wind here in Dallas means that a canopy cover only last about one season.

Any way a very nice product so far.
